San Fu Clinic
-
Every year, there is a brief window when nature offers something we can't create for ourselves.
San Fu is one of them.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the hottest days of summer carry the strongest Yang energy of the year. For centuries, practitioners have used this brief window to help strengthen the body's defenses before autumn arrives. Prevention has always been one of the great strengths of Chinese medicine. Rather than waiting for symptoms, we use the abundance of summer to prepare for what comes next.
If you tend toward seasonal allergies, sinus congestion, frequent colds, asthma, or other recurring respiratory concerns, this is one of my favorite treatments to receive and to offer.
I'm so happy to be partnering with my dear friend and colleague Samantha Yurkosky of Woodstock Acupuncture to offer three San Fu Moxibustion clinics this summer at the Fuller Building in Kingston.
During your visit, we'll apply a small herbal paste to specific acupuncture points and secure it with medical tape. Adults head home with the patches in place and remove them later that day. Children receive the same treatment with a much shorter application time. Mild redness is common, and occasionally a small blister may form, which is considered a normal therapeutic response in this tradition. San Fu is not recommended during pregnancy.
